Afternoon Teas

An afternoon of pure indulgence!

Whether you are entertaining guests, or just want a private moment of delightful decadence, it’s very hard to beat a traditional English afternoon tea!

The tradition of afternoon tea started around 1840, when Anna Russell, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, complained of a “sinking feeling” in the afternoons, and requested that some light food and a pot of tea be brought to her quarters to ward off her hunger. So happy was the Duchess with her afternoon pick-me-up that she decided to invite a few of her friends to join her, and a new social event was born!

At So Tasty, we are firm believers in the restorative properties of an afternoon tea. We stick to the traditional format of dainty sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and a range of cakes and fancies - but you can also add one of our delicious sausage rolls if you have had a particularly taxing day!

If it’s good enough for the Duchess of Bedford, it’s good enough for you!
